Janeane Garofalo, Daniel Oreskes, Morgan Spector inside New Group’s Russian Transport
The brand new Group’s world-premiere production of Erika Sheffer’s Russian Transport, with Janeane Garofalo, Daniel Oreskes and Morgan Spector, begans previews Jan. 17 prior to the state run opening Jan. 30 with the New Group @ Theatre Row.
The cast features Janeane Garofalo as Diana, Daniel Oreskes as Misha, Morgan Spector as Boris, Sarah Steele as Mira and Raviv Ullman as Alex.
Russian Transport is identified as a “suspenseful family drama set in the Russian Jewish community of Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn. Diana and Misha, an immigrant couple, run a struggling car service while trying to create the American Dream for teenagers, Alex and Mira. When Diana’s sexy and mysterious brother Boris arrives to remain with him or her, family loyalty is tested. For Alex and Mira, Uncle Boris can be an exciting addition on their home, but soon Alex is pulled into his Uncle’s dangerous world.”
