Derrick Rose, (Derrick Martell Rose born 10/4/1988). Derrick Rose was born and raised inside Englewood area, one of the most dangerous neighborhoods on Chicago’s South Side. He was Brenda Rose’s fourth son after Dwayne, Reggie and Allan, but the first in seven years. All three were talented basketball players who taught Derrick Rose the in and outs of basketball on nearby courts. As his talent to the sport grew, Derrick Rose did start to attract additional outside attention in Chicago’s basketball circles, leading his mother and brothers to restrict outside contact to him, fearing his route to the NBA can be exploited and derailed by outside parties such as street agents, including with the case with former Chicago prospect Ronnie Fields.

Derrick Rose can be an American professional basketeer with the Chicago Bulls with the National Basketball Association (NBA). Rose learned the action of basketball from his three older brothers. In high school, he won two state championships and was rated by scouts as being the top point guard prospect near you after graduation. He played for the University of Memphis Tigers and reached the NCAA national title game in 2008. After that, Rose declared to the 2008 NBA Draft and was selected first overall by the Chicago Bulls. In the first year of professional basketball, Derrick Rose was voted the Rookie of the season and was selected towards the All-Rookie Team. In his second season, Rose was selected for NBA All-Star for that 2010 NBA All-Star Game; he have also been named a starter for that U.S. team at the 2010 FIBA World Championships. Since being drafted, Derrick Rose has led the Bulls to the NBA Playoffs every year.

In 2011, he received the NBA MVP Award, becoming the youngest player ever to win this award. He joined Michael Jordan because the only Chicago Bulls players to win the honor.
